North American Society for Calligraphy and Aesthetics
A nonprofit-minded community dedicated to the living traditions of letter arts, ink culture, and thoughtful design—bridging Eastern and Western lineages across North America.
About NASCA
NASCA brings together practitioners, educators, collectors, and researchers who care about calligraphy not only as fine handwriting but as a discipline where gesture, material, and meaning meet. We support exhibitions, salons, publications, and cross-disciplinary dialogue on the aesthetics of the written mark in a digital age.
Calligraphy
Brush and pen traditions, historical scripts, East Asian shūfǎ, Latin paleography, and contemporary experimental lettering.
Aesthetics
Critical reflection on form, rhythm, negative space, and the cultural contexts in which written beauty takes shape.
